Charlesworth Cricket Club was founded in 1861 and Chisworth Cricket Club was founded in 1867.  In 1895 the two clubs were amalgamated to form the present Charlesworth & Chisworth Cricket Club.

CCCC ground is located at Bankfield, off Marple Road to the right of Charlesworth Park.

The club competes in the Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League at various levels.  There are two senior teams the first eleven and second eleven and there are three junior teams, under 11's, under 13's and under 16's.  Also there is a social Over 40's team that arranges friendly fixtures every season.

As a club, we are always on the lookout for new enthusiastic players at all levels.  We offer an open door policy so please feel free to come and join us.  At present we can offer approved coaching to all of our junior teams.

20 / 20 Competition

We are holding a 20 / 20 Knockout Cup Competition at the club on Sunday 10th July between ourselves, Broadbottom, Old Glossop and Glossop Cricket Clubs.  The first game will start at 10.30am, Final at 5pm.  For all the details click here.

2011 Sportsman's Dinner

Our Eighth annual Sportsman's Dinner is taking place on Friday 9th September (7pm for 7.30pm) at Glossop Golf Club.  This years guest speaker is former Liverpool FC player Jan Molby, famous for being the only scouser to play for Denmark, comedian is Austin Knight and MC for the evening James H Reeve.  Tickets for the eigth consecutive year are priced at £30pp and are available from Alan Burgoyne (01457 863459), Harry Whitney (01457 864263) or Pete Thompson (01457 868768).  Last year was a sell out so book early to avoid disappointment.

Charlesworth & Chisworth Cricket Club have successfully achieved becoming a  “Clubmark Accredited Club” and one of only 36 clubs that has reached this milestone in the County. Achieving Clubmark Accreditation confirms that the club operates to a key set of criteria & has in place good practice to ensure that you can deliver high quality community club cricket in an environment that is safe, effective & child friendly.  For more click here.
